WHITE DOOWOP COLLECTOR From Liverpool....THE VERNONS GIRLS

The Vernons Girls Lover Please (1962) YouTube

The Vernons Girls vanished in 1964, although their ex-members remained in the business, singing in various vocal groups -- most notably the Breakaways, whose accompaniments graced dozens of fine records by other artists (including the pre-King Crimson trio of Giles, Giles & Fripp) -- for years to come.

The Vernon Girls 1961

Stars of Jack Good's TV shows Oh Boy! and Boy Meets Girls, THE VERNONS GIRLS were pretty much a cottage industry of their own, with their various satellites and spinoffs. A sixteen-girl ensemble when Jack discovered them in 1957, by the turn of the 60s they'd slimmed down to a trio, their ex-members either pursuing solo careers or forming rival vocal duos/trios.

Very Best of Vernon Girls Review by Bruce Eder Twenty songs seems a bit ambitious, but at least all of the trio's varying styles and approaches are covered. All of the charting singles are represented as well, along with good non-hits like "Do The Bird," "The Loco-motion" and "Tomorrow Is Another Day."
